Our Charity Efforts – Dura-ID Solutions Will Continue Fundraising in 2025

2nd January 2025

2024 has been a successful year at Dura-ID Solutions in many ways. One of the things we are proudest of is our continued success when it comes to fundraising.

Our charity partners for the financial year 2023/24 and 2024/25 are Rotherham Hospice. This allowed us to witness their incredible dedication and the personalised care and support they offer, making a huge difference in unimaginable hardship.

We’ve already managed to raise some funds for the Rotherham Hospice and will continue throughout the calendar year. In November, our team completed a gruelling 537-mile static bike ride to raise funds. Separate teams at Dura-ID Solutions in Tankersly and Paignton raced one another to the halfway point. Afterward, people had a chance to win the exercise bikes that were used for the race as a fun incentive to raise more money.

We also ramped things up in December with a Christmas Jumper day in our workplace and on the 19th of December we hosted a lunchtime quiz with the entry fees going directly to the charity, a Christmas buffet for all the staff and we even had a staff raffle for everyone to get involved in.

Our dedicated staff have already generated thousands of pounds, but the hard work continues into 2025.

Upcoming Events

There’s something for everybody at our upcoming fundraising events and opportunities for the wider community to get involved.

We have already planned many fundraising activities for charity in 2025 showcasing a mix of physical challenges, competitions, and unique events. Our initiatives spread across several months and involve employees from various divisions of the company, all contributing to an extremely worthy cause.

In an entrepreneurial start to the year, January kicks off with a £50 Challenge, where competing businesses receive £50 and then have 50 days to multiply it through creative fundraising efforts. We have no idea what each business plans to do, but it will put the business acumen of the teams to the test as they try to maximise the funds.

In February, individual business events dominate, featuring a mix of physical and interactive challenges. Highlights include a “Tour De Fibreboard,” with cycling again being a key part of the ambitious fundraising for our sister company RH Fibreboard.

There is also a martial arts marathon in Barnstaple at NDE and raffles like the 2-yard Skip Raffle in Yeovil by YPS and so much more.

April invites adrenaline seekers with a charity skydive. This event sees a group of daring participants taking the plunge, supported by sponsorships, and it is still open to participants. We also get to see our Marketing Manager, Emma Todd take part in the skydive event, which we are all looking forward to.

May features the “Incredible Hike,” a 60-mile guided trek along the South West Coast Path. Starting at Westward Ho! and ending in Tethevy, this three-day challenge involves both fundraising and physical endurance in hilly terrain.

June will bring more sunshine (we hope) and is time for the Goonvean Games 2.0, an event filled with a cricket game, loads of baked treats, and a summer raffle, with the staff from all sites coming together to support a good cause.

Dura-ID Solutions employees will also tackle the Yorkshire 3 Peaks challenge, a demanding 24.5-mile hike across rugged terrains from the Yorkshire Dales to Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough.

More physical challenges will continue with the “Ride for Precious Lives,” a 200-mile cycle across three counties. Read more about this event here. There is also an opportunity for volunteers to take part in a wing walk, in July and volunteers can contact Doug Turnbull at NDE (dturnbull@nde.co.uk) to register an interest!

September’s Run Barnstaple marathon invites participants to choose distances from 10K to a full marathon. This is a relatively flat course and is more accessible to people.

A Jam-Packed 2025

As you can see, the calendar is already looking packed for 2025, but we’re looking for even more options to raise funds and always need the support of the public to make the most impact possible. We will also host many dress-down days across the year and a charity open day for customers to attend in the spring. To register interest in this event, get in touch via email on marketing@dura-id.com

Through our ongoing efforts, Dura-ID Solutions demonstrates a commitment to making a meaningful impact on the community and specifically the amazing work of Rotherham Hospice.
