The first thing you’ll notice in HLS Pro X is the refined interface. It’s been thoughtfully redesigned with a cleaner, more intuitive layout that’s easy to learn—even if you’re not especially confident with computers. Within minutes, most users are up and running, navigating the system with ease.
Behind that user-friendly surface is a modern SQL database. This upgrade isn’t just technical fluff—it makes the whole system more robust, helping to reduce crashes and speed up your day-to-day work. It’s the kind of stability you don’t notice until it’s gone—but one you’ll quickly appreciate in a busy working environment.
Searching for plant records has also improved dramatically. No more fumbling through fields or scrolling endlessly. Now you can just type in a name—or even part of a name—and the system begins narrowing down the results in real time. It’s a small change that makes a big difference when you’re managing hundreds (or thousands) of plant varieties.
Label Design, Simplified with HLS Pro X
Creating custom labels is now easier and more flexible. The updated layout designer includes better tools for alignment, accurate copy-pasting of design elements, and a layout that feels familiar if you’ve ever worked with Windows software. Whether you’re adding logos, adjusting fonts, or changing layouts, it all feels natural and efficient.
You can also save printer settings directly within each label template, which means fewer mistakes and less reconfiguration between jobs. A new naming system for templates—based on label stock codes—helps keep everything organised, especially if your business operates across multiple locations or teams.
From Barcodes to EPOS—We’ve Got You Covered
HLS Pro X now supports a broader range of barcodes, including fully functional QR codes, and integrates more smoothly with external systems like EPOS. This makes it easier to sync your labelling with sales data, stock management, or point-of-sale tools.
And of course, we’ve retained the core features that made HLS such a strong performer in the first place. The plant database still comes with over 14,000 editable entries. You can import your own lists via CSV, and there’s even a built-in spellchecker that covers Latin names—ideal for reducing costly typos. You can also add up to nine images per plant, whether you’re using our optional 4,500-image library or uploading your own.
Printing That Fits Your Business
No matter how you print your labels, there’s a solution within HLS Pro X. For fast, monochrome printing, our recommended Toshiba Thermal Printers are reliable and cost-effective. If colour is essential to your branding, the OKI C650 LED printer provides vibrant results with support for double-sided printing. For high-impact, photo-quality labels, Epson’s inkjet printers give your designs the kind of finish that really draws attention—perfect for retail displays.

HLS Pro X is designed to run on modern systems, with Windows 10 or later, an x86-compatible processor, and at least 8GB of RAM. It’s built for the hardware most businesses already have.
