Objectives
Jasmine Nursery needed a labelling process that could keep up with the scale and variety of its plant range.
The previous process involved manually selecting labels from stock, bundling them by order and relying on pre-printed label availability. This was time-consuming and created unnecessary waste, particularly when plant ranges changed or labels became obsolete.
The business also needed more flexibility to include customer logos, barcodes, pricing, plant passport details and clear plant information on each label.
The Solution
Dura-ID Solutions worked with Jasmine Nursery to support a fully integrated, in-house colour label printing process – The Hortipix Pro.
The system enables orders to be sent through to BarTender and printed on demand using blank label stock. Jasmine Nursery can now produce labels in different formats, including pot-lock and tree labels, while customising each label with customer branding, barcodes, pricing and plant information.
This has removed the need to hold large volumes of pre-printed stock and has given the nursery much greater control over its labelling process.

“We used to get an order, go down and hand-pick all the labels, put rubber bands around them and sort them by customer. Now we can just print the whole lot.”

“If customers want their own logo on the label, they just send us the file. We drop it into the system, print the label and that’s it — job done.”

“When I go into a garden centre now and look at the labels we produce compared with others, our labels stand out a lot more.”
