Finding suppliers you can trust can sometimes feel like a challenge. What should you look for in a good label supplier? In our experience, the following 5 qualities are vitally important.
Experience is always a huge benefit when looking for a good label supplier. You need tried and tested labelling solutions which won’t let you down. If a label supplier has knowledge and experience in your particular industry, you can be confident that the advice provided will be sound and the product will meet your requirements.
Our story began way back in 1936. From humble beginnings, we have grown to be a global leader in high performance label printing and manufacturing. Over the past 80 years, it’s fair to say we have acquired a substantial amount of experience, not only in our own field but also in the numerous sectors we supply to,
From suppliers of metal tags to the steel producers of the era in Sheffield, we have expanded and adapted our product offering over the years to grow with the times. We are now experienced suppliers to a diverse range of sectors, including chemical, horticultural and construction companies, among many others.
We’re proud to have developed enduring relationships with our customers. But don’t take our word for it, you can read what they have to say about us here.
If a supplier is to offer a bespoke labelling solution, which matches your exact needs, they need to have genuine manufacturing expertise, production capability, in-depth knowledge of materials, inks, adhesives and know their production machinery inside out. How can you be sure you are getting the best available label otherwise?
One thing we value, above all else, is our staff. We spend time training and nurturing all our staff, whether they work on the sales team, talking to our customers, operating our presses, packing boxes or emptying bins. Our business wouldn’t be able to function properly without them, after all!
From your initial enquiry with IML to the delivery of your labels, you’ll be dealing with somebody who knows exactly what they’re doing. Many of our staff have been with us for decades, and have gained in-depth expertise in their roles. We can guide you through the label selection process so that you end up with the best possible product for your needs.
We’re also always on the look our for new, talented individuals to join our growing team! Visit our Careers page to view immediate opportunities and details of where to send you CV.
After experience and expertise, the most important thing to look for in a good label supplier is excellent customer service. If you have any questions or queries about your labels, it’s vital that you can contact your supplier easily and receive an answer quickly.
We pride ourselves on our fantastic customer service and our dedicated team are passionate about helping our customers. Whenever you contact us, you can be sure of a friendly, knowledgeable person on the end of the phone to help you. We have an internal Customer Services Team who are on hand to process your orders, answer queries and provide updates on your order. We also have a team of Area Sales Managers who can visit your site to gain a full insight into your business and its operations, negotiate supply agreements, discuss future plans and, should a problem arise, be there to sort it out efficiently to minimize the impact on your business.
When you buy a label printing system from us we offer an aftersales support service with our label printer and software products, for complete peace of mind that your labelling system will keep running smoothly and efficiently. We’ll service and maintain your printing system, and if any problems occur we’re here to help. Support packages can be tailor-made to suit your needs.
If we install a label printer or software package for you, we’ll also provide FREE training to get you up and running and quickly as possible.
Your label requirements may change over time. If your current supplier can respond to these changes, it’ll save you the hassle of sourcing and appointing a new one. An extensive product range is another quality to look for in a good label supplier.
We believe our product range is unbeatable. Whether you need waterproof labels, labels for pallets, labels that can withstand extreme temperatures and weathering, barcode labels, or almost any other label, we have the product for you.
Achieving a balance between label functionality and design is also important; don’t sacrifice the look of your labels for the sake of durability or application. With our product range, you can have both! We belief the reputation of your business is at stake every time you apply a label printed with your branding and we take this responsibility seriously.
Our team will help you to design the label you need, using the most suitable materials from our wide range. You can be sure of consistent quality every time you order from us.
As well as an extensive product range, it’s important to choose a label supplier who moves with the times, and is able to provide you with the latest advancements in labelling technology.
Back in the late 1980’s, we pioneered the development of a new, extremely durable labelling material: Rip-proof. As well as boasting superior strength, Rip-proof withstands temperatures up to around 200°C and can be overprinted with variable data easily using a thermal transfer printer. Our R&D team first spotted the raw material in use on haulage vehicles. We discussed our ideas with the raw material supplier, and set to work developing a unique coating to allow overprinting.
This innovation revolutionised the industrial labelling at the time, and we have been committed to innovation ever since. Many of the materials we supply are unique to us and have been developed and refined through a process of rigorous testing and feedback from customers and raw material suppliers alike.
